Vox denounces Sánchez for ‘bribery’ and asks the Supreme Court to temporarily suspend the investiture
Vox has launched a legal challenge to block the planned investiture debate due to begin today.
The far-right party filed a lawsuit against Pedro Sánchez and Carles Puigdemont for alleged crimes, and has requested the Supreme Court to suspend Sánchez’s investiture.
Vox opposes the amnesty law, and intends to file lawsuits against the Chairs of the Congress and the Senate if the law is admitted for processing.
Meanwhile a massive security operation has been launched ahead of the debate, with over 1,600 agents deployed for the debate, with security measures closing off the area surrounding the Spanish parliament from last night.
There are concerns that protests outside PSOE party headquarters may move to the Congress, leading to controls and pedestrian access restrictions in the Carrera de San Jerónimo.
The first round of voting is expected to take place on Thursday.
