Officers were alerted to the situation of a woman being held hostage in a property.
However upon securing the release of the woman, it was discovered that the victim had been held hostage following a bungled robbery attempt between two rival gangs in the city.
Police proceeded to arrest both groups of people, as well as confiscating over 1.5kg of marijuana during the police operation. Those detained are aged between 29 and 39 years of age and of Spanish, Romanian, German and Irish nationalities.
He is understood to be the only covid patient in the two hospitals in the city, and is understood to be under observation by medical practitioners.
The number of cases related to a concert on the island of Mallorca has now passed 1,300 cases, with a positivity rate of 25.7% in young people.

It’s understood the person – who is under medical observation at the General University Hospital of Elche – travelled to the area from Madrid, where it is believed they contracted the virus.
Medical professionals have confirmed that the patient is in isolation, and is responding well to treatment.
In a press releases issued by the city council yesterday, Councillor for the Environment, Esther Díez said the measure would improve the city’s beaches not only for visitors to them, but would also improve the areas cleanliness.
Head of of Tourism, Carles Molina, went on to confirm that information on smoke free beaches will be provided, along with the benefits of giving up cigarette use.
