Three dead as Storm Gloria leaves devastation in her wake

Three people are known to have died as a result of Storm Gloria, which left large areas of the country under a red alert from weather agency Aemet.

Historical levels of snowfall have been reported, in what is being called one of the worst winter storms in years.

Two men and one woman are known to have died in accidents caused as a result of the storm, with areas seeing significant damage and disruption.

Alicante-Elche airport was closed until the early hours of this morning, causing significant disruption to flights.

Coastal areas suffered significant damage, with the beach front in Javea suffering major flooding and water damage.
