A British man has been detained by Policia Nacional investigating a twitter hack last July which saw 130 accounts on the social media network belonging to celebrities scamming their followers out of Bitcoin.

The 22-year-old male was detained by officers in Estepona investigating the hack in a joint operation with the FBI.
Twitter confirmed that 130 accounts were targeted by the criminals during the July 2020 hack, with 45 being used to send tweets.
Scam messages were posted by accounts belonging to Barack Obama, Jeff Bezos, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Bill Gates, among others.

Policia Nacional in Estepona are looking for the owners of a white car that may have UK plates, after a 19-year-old was killed in what is believed to be a case of road rage.
The driver of a white Mercedes is believed to have stabbed the victim after an altercation where the victim was nearly run over at a zebra crossing.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the attack, which occurred outside The Diana Centre in an area known as Diana Park off the dual-carriageway running between the Costa del Sol resorts of Marbella and Estepona.
A man hunt is underway for a “well built blonde haired” man and a woman, who are understood to have been driving the vehicle which had UK number plates.

Policia Nacional have detained six people in connection with a drug trafficking operation, which brought cocaine from Central America to Spain hidden inside bananas.
Officers discovered the gang operating in Estepona, and launched an investigation into the operation.
Over a quarter of a tonne of cocaine was discovered in raids, with six people being remanded in custody ahead of their trial.

A 38m slide linking two streets in Estepona has been closed – a day after it opened for the first time.
Residents reported suffering injuries while riding the steel chute on the Costa del Sol town, which was designed to save people from a 10-minute walk.

Videos posted on social media showed people hurtling down the slide and flying off at the end.
However, despite the closure, the local ayuntamiento have said that the slide was safe, and that over a thousand people had used it safely on it’s first day.

A British man who was extradited from Spain on a European arrest warrant, has been found guilty of murder.
19-year-old Jack Stevens was arrested in Estepona last July in connection with the death of 27-year-old actor Nashon Esbrand.
Stevens was tracked down following an investigation involving Policia Nacional, the Met Police, the UK’s National Crime Agency.
He was found guilty on Wednesday of murdering Mr Esbrand, who was stabbed by a gang in Islington in August 2017.

Nine arrested in Spain and Sweden as part of murder investigations
Nine people were arrested in Spain and Sweden last week as a result of a collaboration between Swedish and Spanish police.
The arrestees are suspected of being part of a criminal network believed to be behind two murders in southern Spain. All nine are from Sweden.
Three of the arrests were made in Málaga while the other six individuals were arrested in Malmö. The arrests came in a series of coordinated police actions at the beginning of the week as part of ‘Operation Rueda’.
The three arrested – seven men and two women – are understood to have links to a criminal organization suspected of carrying out two murders in the Andalusian cities of Estepona and Marbella.

A British man has reportedly died in Malaga, Spain, after being shot at by Policia Nacional.
The man, who has not been publicly identified, died in the town of Estepona on Monday.
Police were quoted as saying that the unnamed man shot at officers as they were trying to arrest him.
The man had fired several times at officers. A Policia Nacional spokesperson went on to say that the victim had a record for drug dealing and gun possession.

Two Policia Local officers from Estepona on the Costa del Sol have been detained by Polica Nacional on suspicion of the sexual assault of an 18-year-old girl.
In a statement to the police, it’s alleged that the woman was attacked after her car was pulled over by officers after admitting to drink driving. Upon the woman’s arrival at home, the officers arrived in her car and followed her to her apartment where the assault took place.
An investigation has now been launched. Two men, aged 37 & 38 have been detained whilst enquiries continue.
