18-year-old boy admitted to intensive care with covid-19 after Mallorca trip

An 18-year-old boy from Elche who was one of those who attended an end-of-year trip to Mallorca has been admitted to intensive care suffering from the coronavirus.

He is understood to be the only covid patient in the two hospitals in the city, and is understood to be under observation by medical practitioners.

The number of cases related to a concert on the island of Mallorca has now passed 1,300 cases, with a positivity rate of 25.7% in young people.

Across the Valencian region a further 618 new cases of the virus were detected in the last day, with a further 2 covid related deaths.
