Over 860 migrants moved to new facilities in Ceuta
More than 860 migrants have been moved into a new temporary reception centre in Ceuta, as authorities continue dealing with the consequences of July’s mass entry from Morocco.
A total of 864 people who had been sleeping outdoors in the Loma Colmenar area were transferred voluntarily to the new facility in Los Rosales.
Ceuta Migration Crisis
The operation was carried out without incident, with support from Policía Nacional and other security services.
The Government says the new accommodation is part of a wider effort to move migrants away from the streets and provide better conditions while their individual cases are processed.
More than 5,300 people who entered Ceuta during the July crisis have also since returned voluntarily to Morocco.
