Alicante-Elche airport set to handle 70% of flights

Alicante-Elche airport is expected to handle nearly 70% of it’s usual number of flights during July, August and September, regional authorities have said.

7,922 flights are due to operate over the summer months, carrying an estimated 1.4 million passengers.

For the first time a direct link with the region and London Heathrow airport has launched, with the new British Airways service launching this summer.
