PSOE and Sumar finalize coalition government agreement for Sánchez’s investiture
PSOE and the political alliance Sumar are understood to be close to reaching an agreement for a coalition government.
Negotiation teams from both parties are currently working on finalizing the pact.
PSOE leader Pedro Sánchez and Sumar spokesperson Yolanda Díaz have met to discuss the potential agreement in the last few days – a sign of an imminent agreement.
The coalition government would need the support of the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) and Catalan independent parties.
One of the key points of debate in the negotiations is the reduction of the workday, which Sumar has made a condition for the agreement.
Despite this, Sumar’s spokesperson, Ernest Urtasun, is optimistic about reaching an agreement. PSOE is confident that the government pact with Sumar will be sealed before the end of October.
