The leaders of Sumar – Yolanda Diaz – and Junts – Carles Puigdemont – have met in Brussels to discuss Junts’ support for Pedro Sanchez’s investiture as Prime Minister.

In a statement it was confirmed that Yolanda Diaz attended the meeting on behalf of Sumar, not PSOE nor the caretaker government.

The meeting comes ahead of a planned investiture vote for the leader of Partido Popular’s Alberto Nunez Feijo, which currently appears to lack the number of votes needed to secure his premiership.

PP won July’s General Election, but failed to secure a majority.
