Over 1,600 Police Officers to Secure Pedro Sánchez’s Investiture Debate
Over 1,600 police officers have been assigned to provide security for Pedro Sánchez’s investiture debate in the Congress of Deputies.
The security device will be in place 24 hours before the plenary session begins, ensuring the safety of all participants and attendees.
However, there are concerns that protests against the amnesty law, which have been taking place near the headquarters of the PSOE party, may move to the Congress.
To address this, security controls and pedestrian access restrictions have been implemented in the Carrera de San Jerónimo. It is expected that security measures, including fences, will surround the entire Congress during the investiture session.
This level of security is not unprecedented, as similar measures were put in place during Mariano Rajoy’s investiture debate in 2016.
