ERC members call for negotiations before support for PSOE government

Catalan separatist party ERC members have voted to not support the investiture of PSOE leader Pedro Sanchez, unless there is an open dialogue regarding Catalan independence between the Generalitat and the Spanish Government.

In what is being seen as a blow for Mr Sanchez, the ERC have said they will only vote in favour of the proposed coalition agreement between PSOE and Podemos if the there is planned negotiations with Catalan separatists.

94.6% voted in favour of only supporting the investiture provided there were ongoing negotiations over the regions bid for independence and the sentencing of separatists leaders to prison in October.
