The Supreme Court’s Board of Prosecutors has signalled potential grounds for investigating former Catalan President Carles Puigdemont, as suggested by Judge Manuel García Castellón, for his alleged involvement in the 2019 riots triggered by Tsunami Democràtic. The board’s decision came after a prolonged meeting where the majority’s opinion differed from Prosecutor Álvaro Redondo, who opposed Puigdemont’s indictment and disputed terrorism charges.
