María Isabel Perelló Takes Office as New President of the Supreme Court

María Isabel Perelló has been sworn in as the new president of the Supreme Court and the General Council of the Judiciary.

Yesterday’s swearing-in ceremony with the King was held at the Palacio de la Zarzuela in Madrid included support from various judicial and governmental officials, including Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

Perelló is the first woman to lead the Spanish judiciary following her election on Tuesday after extensive negotiations among council members.
