Interior Minister confirms over €1.9b in infrastructure investment

Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, says almost 1.9 billion euros has been invested in modernising security infrastructure across Spain over the past seven years.

He was speaking in Andújar, in Jaén province, where he opened a new Policía Nacional station costing 7.6 million euros.

The first infrastructure plan, launched in 2019, included 600 million euros and more than 400 construction and refurbishment projects.

A second plan, approved earlier this year and running until 2034, provides another 900 million euros for new and renovated police stations and Guardia Civil barracks.
