Ex-Minister Eduardo Zaplana Faces Imminent Imprisonment

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor has announced that former Minister and ex-president of the Valencian Generalitat – Eduardo Zaplana – be imprisoned immediately following his conviction last week for bribery, money laundering, forgery, and maladministration.

Mr. Zaplana faces ten years and five months in prison, with a hearing due to be held on 7th November to consider the prosecutor’s request.

He was found guilty earlier this month as part of the Erial case, however Mr. Zaplana has said he plans to appeal his conviction.
