Death toll and infection numbers revised down due to data improvements
The government has revised down the number of coronavirus related deaths and the numbers of infections.
In a statement issued yesterday, they said improvements in the way data is being processed and gathered allowed them to remove duplicate or inaccurate records. The revision means the death toll has fallen by nearly 2000 to stand at 26,834.
Health ministry’s emergencies coordinator Fernando Simon said the data was being double checked to ensure that there were no inconsistencies with the new figures.
The number of infections has also dropped by nearly 400, with a national total of 235,400.
