Ten days of mourning begins today, in memory of those who died due to Covid-19.
The period – announced on Saturday by prime minister Pedro Sanchez – is the longest period of time the nation has mourned since it’s return to democracy.
King Felipe VI will also lead a national memorial event in the coming weeks, as part of a national act of remembrance.
