Valencian region proposes tougher restrictions on private holiday lettings
The Generalitat Valenciana has passed a law that is designed to control the number of holiday rentals in the region.
The vote means that the Costa Blanca could be joining a growing list of resorts that have outlawed unregulated short term holiday rentals in private properties on sites such as airb’n’n.
Last month Palma, on the Balearic island of Mallorca, banned tourist apartments altogether. On Tuesday, the regional parliament of Valencia agreed on amendments to a new Tourism Law that will be voted in before the summer.
