Six charged in Spain over deadly nightclub fire

Six people, including nightclub managers and administrators, have been charged as part of a manslaughter investigation into a deadly fire that occurred at a nightclub in Murcia on the first of October.

The fire spread to a neighbouring venue, resulting in the deaths of 13 people.

The court has ordered an examination of a special effects machine which is understood to be the possible source of the fire, with the operator of the unit also facing prosecution.

If negligence or inadequate safety measures are found, those responsible could face up to nine years in jail.
