Leader of one of the world’s most active hacker groups arrested in Alicante
The suspected leader of the ‘Kelvin Security’ hacker group has been arrested in Alicante.
This group has conducted over three hundred high-level cyberattacks in the past three years, targeting critical infrastructures and government institutions in more than ninety countries.
The arrested individual, a Venezuelan citizen, is charged with belonging to a criminal organization, revelation of secrets, computer damage, and money laundering.
The investigation began two years ago after cyberattacks on Spanish municipalities and the regional government of Castilla-La Mancha.
Their most recent attack extracted confidential information from over eighty-five thousand customers of an energy company.
