Births Decline in Spain to Historic Low

Spain’s birth rate continues to fall, with 320,656 babies born last year – a decrease of two point six percent from the previous year.

This marks the lowest number of births since 1941.

The average number of children per woman has also dropped to 1.12.

Meanwhile, deaths decreased by 6.1% and life expectancy rose to 83.8 years of age.
