Spanish Inflation Rate Drops To 2.8% In February

The Consumer Price Index rose by zero point three per cent in February compared to the previous month, according to data released yesterday by the national statistics institute – the INE.

This decline is attributed to the reduction in electricity prices and food costs remaining static. However fuel prices saw an increase in February.

The drop to a 2.8% year-on-year rate marks the lowest level of inflation since last August, when it was at 2.6%, and the first time in six months that inflation has fallen below 3%.

The final CPI data for February is scheduled to be announced on March 14th.
