Spain to Legalise Three Hundred Thousand Undocumented Migrants Annually

The government has approved a policy to legalise about three hundred thousand undocumented migrants each year.

The plan addresses the country’s ageing workforce and low birth rate, aiming to maintain its welfare state.

The scheme will begin in May and will allow foreigners living without documentation to obtain work permits and residency.

The government says they believe the scheme will disrupt criminal gangs who push migrants to work on the black market.
