Spain faces prolonged drought and above-average temperatures

Spain is currently facing a prolonged meteorological drought, with some regions experiencing exceptionally dry conditions – that’s according to data released by the meteorological agency Aemet.

In their latest long term forecast, they said that the autumn and winter months are expected to be warmer than usual, and there is a fifty percent chance of above-average rainfall from November to January.

However, despite the potential increase in precipitation, the prolonged drought is unlikely to end, and the weather models for the remainder of 2023 and the first months of 2024 remain uncertain.
