Rio Hero Saves Child from Balcony in Alicante

A Brazilian migrant has been hailed a hero after saving a young boy from a second-floor balcony in Alicante.

Thirty year old Felipe David Souza risked his life to rescue the six-year-old, who was perched precariously on the ledge, after squeezing through an open window.

Witnesses watched in relief as Souza safely guided the child back to safety.

Local authorities plan to honour Souza’s courageous act during an award ceremony in November, recognising the risk he took to save the child’s life.
