Calls for Podemos leader to resign over growing scandal
The political storm brewing over alleged misconduct allegations against coalition partner Podemos has grown, after opposition parties called for the resignation of deputy prime minister, and leader of Unidos Podemos, Pablo Iglesias.
Both PP and Vox have said that PSOE leader and prime minister Pedro Sanchez should suspend the Podemos leader following on from three members of the party’s leadership being charged with malpractice and possible illegal financing of a political party.
Centre right party Ciudadanos has called on the Podemos leader to appear at the Congress of Deputies to give Spanish law makers a chance to establish if he was aware of any of the alleged practices carried out in the party.
