Two arrested following Madrid shop murder

Two people have been arrested in connection to the death of a 61-year-old woman in Madrid on Monday.

Emergency services located the body of the victim, who ran a shop on Plaza de Tirso de Molina, on Monday afternoon.

Police investigating the case are understood to be working on the assumption it was a robbery that turned violent after the owner fought back.

Investigators confirmed a 58-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman were taken into custody after being stopped on the corner of Atocha Street and Relatores Street.
