Former Catalan political leader shot in Madrid

A police investigation has been launched after the former co-founder of the far-right party Vox – Alejandro Vidal-Quadras – was shot and injured in the face in Madrid’s Salamanca area.

The attack occurred at approximately one thirty yesterday afternoon as Vidal-Quadras was about to get into his car.

The gunman and another person fled the scene on a black Yamaha motorcycle.

A manhunt is underway to try and find the pair responsible for the shooting.
