Karla Sofía Gascón Nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars

Spanish actress Karla Sofía Gascón has been nominated for best actress at the 97th Academy Awards.

Gascón, the lead in ‘Emilia Pérez’ , is also the first transgender actress to receive an Oscar nomination.

In addition to Gascón’s nomination, ‘Emilia Pérez’ stands out in this year’s Academy Awards with a total of thirteen nominations, making it the most nominated non-English film in history.

Other nominated actresses in the same category include Demi Moore, Cynthia Erivo, Mikey Madison, and Fernanda Torres.

The ceremony will take place on the 2nd March at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by Conan O’Brien.
