High Court Confirms Reports on Ex-Minister José Luis Ábalos

The Supreme Court has confirmed its decision to request thorough reports from both the tax agency and CaixaBank regarding the financial circumstances of former Transport Minister José Luis Ábalos as part of the ongoing “Koldo Case” corruption investigation.

Judge Leopoldo Puente dismissed a claim from Ábalos that the investigation was overly speculative, underscoring that it extends beyond mask procurement.

The court stressed that possession of assets, whether property or bank accounts, does not automatically indicate criminal behaviour.

Mr. Ábalos denies any wrongdoing.
