Embassy suggests licence agreement may be close
The British Embassy in Madrid has announced that an agreement over driving licences may be close following ongoing negotiations over the Christmas period.
In a statement on social media, the Embassy confirmed that the legal text for driving licences has been approved, and will now move to the Spanish cabinet for final sign-off before the treaty text is voted into law.
British residents who did not exchanges their driving licence ahead of the cut off period last year are not currently legally able to drive following the UK’s exit from the European Union.
