The level of youth unemployment rise to 40.1% in 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic ravaged the Spanish job sector.
According to data released in the Labour Force Survey, unemployment in those under 25 years of age rose by nearly 10%, an increase not seen since 2016.
Alongside youth unemployment, the total number of households where all those we unemployed rose to 1.2 million.
The pandemic has been attributed to the loss of 622,600 jobs nationwide over the last year.
