Prime Minister calls on EU to develop pandemic response

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has joined French President Emanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel as well as their Belgian, Danish and Polish counterparts to call on the European Commission to improve it’s preparedness for future pandemics.

In a letter sent to Comission President Ursula Von der Leyen, the six heads of state call for improved coordination between member states as well as sharing databases concerning pandemic data and pooling resources in the procurement of medical supplies.

They also call for an investigation to be launched in an effort to prevent inaccurate and potentially life threatening information being spread via social media networks.
