Peak of pandemic was passed eleven days after lockdown began

The peak of the pandemic has now been identified, according to data released by the Carlos III Health Institute and the Ministry of Health.

March 26th, eleven days since the beginning of the lockdown, saw a peak in the number of new cases. 9,181 people tested positive for the virus on that day.

Until then, the number of infections doubled every 2.7 days, and the epidemic grew at a rate of 0.3% of the population.
