Covid outbreaks “under control” as three regions move back to phase 2 of lockdown

Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, has said that the 36 outbreaks of Coronavirus are under control

As a result of these outbreaks, three regions in Aragon have moved back to phase 2 of the lockdown restrictions.

Mr Illa will hold meetings this morning with regional health officials to discuss efforts to bring those outbreaks to an end.

Meanwhile discussions with other EU member states will take place in the coming days to confirm if borders across Europe – including in Spain – will reopen for non-EU citizens from the 1st July. A full decision is expected in the coming days.

One person was confirmed to have died yesterday due to Covid-19, with 125 new cases detected in the last 24-hours. The death toll now stands at 28,324.
