Spain protests to the UK over three incidents near Gibraltar

The Spanish Government has lodged a protest to the UK over three incidents near Gibraltar in August, including a spill by a tanker, interference with a vessel, and harassment of a fishing boat in Spanish waters.

In their diplomatic protest, Spain filed a note of protest to the British embassy in Madrid, although the UK embassy has not responded yet.

This is not the first time Spain has protested British interference in its waters, however the government of Gibraltar reaffirms British sovereignty over the waters surrounding the Rock.
