Six arrested after boat intercepted with over 2 tonnes of hashish on board

Six people have been arrested by Guardia Civil in Huelva after the boat they were in was found to be carrying 2.5 tonnes of hashish.

Officers oberved the boat approach another vessel which was suspected to be involved in the transportation of drugs into Spain.

When the two vessels spotted the incoming maritime unit of the Guardia Civil, they tried to escape, however after a chase, officers boarded both vessels, discovering drugs on board as well as recovering packets thrown into the sea during the chase.
