Irish most wanted arrested on the Costa del Sol

One of Irelands most wanted men has been arrested on the Costa del Sol.

Guardia Civil – working with the Irish police force an Garda – detained 58-year-old Gerard Hutch, known as ‘The Monk’, on a European arrest warrant.

Video footage of his arrest was published by Guardia Civil, showing his detention in a restaurant understood to be in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol.

It’s understood Mr Hutch is wanted in connection with the organised crime related murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel in Dublin in February 2016.

He is due to face an extradition hearing in the coming days after appearing in court in Madrid.
