Footballer stabbed after match

A regional division Spanish football club says one of its players has been hospitalized after being stabbed by a spectator following a match.

A spokesman for club Alhaurin de la Torre, said that the attack occurred after Sunday’s match between the club’s B-team playing away at rival El Palo.

The 24-year-old player was stabbed on the pitch after the end of the game won by El Palo, and is in a serious but stable condition in Malaga Hospital.
