A man who caused a wild fire which damaged a number of homes and destroyed multiple vehicles in Dénia has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
The man, who has not been named, caused the blaze after lighting a bonfire to heat some food which then got out of control.
In sentencing the man – who had been living in a tent at the time – the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community also handed a €19,000 fine to pay for damages and costs.
