Moroccan naval vessel entered Spanish waters during Ceuta migration crisis
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has confirmed that Moroccan naval vessels entered waters around Ceuta without prior notice in late July, during a period of mass migrant arrivals.
Ceuta Migration Crisis
Sánchez described the incident as isolated, saying communication between the two countries’ navies helped resolve the situation.
More than 80,000 migrants arrived in Ceuta over two days at the end of July.
The Prime Minister made the comments as King Felipe and Queen Letizia prepare to visit Ceuta and Melilla this week, in their first visit to the two cities during Felipe’s reign.
