British man drowns off coast of Costa Brava

Tributes have been paid to a 62-year-old British man who drowned off of the Costa Brava.

Officials said the man was recovered from the sea near to Calella de Palafrugell on Friday afternoon, after the alert was raised when he didn’t return from a swim.

A post-mortem is due to take place in the coming days to determine the cause of death, however investigators believe that the man drowned.
