Constitutional Court rejects appeal over voting rights
The Constitutional Court has rejected an appeal seeking to restore voting rights to more than 160,000 people who acquired Spanish nationality under the so-called Grandchildren’s Law.

The appeal was brought by the Ombudsman after the Supreme Court suspended their right to vote in the general election on 29 November.
The Constitutional Court ruled, by ten votes to two, that the appeal was premature because the case is still being dealt with by the Supreme Court.
Those affected can still ask the Supreme Court to reconsider its decision, but their voting rights remain suspended for now.
