Three Migrant Vessels Arrive in the Canary Islands

Three vessels carrying one hundred fifty-five migrants have arrived at the Canary Islands.

Two boats reached La Restinga in El Hierro, including one from Yemen with twenty-eight individuals, whilst another carrying fifty-seven from Sub-Saharan Africa arrived earlier.

Salvamento Marítimo also carried out a rescue operation, saving seventy migrants, including sixty-nine men and one woman, from a cayuco spotted twenty-one miles south of La Gomera.

All those rescued were reported to be of Sub-Saharan origin and appeared to be in good health, according to red-cross officials.
