La Gomera power supply partially restored

The power supply on the Canary Island of La Gomera has been restored to around a quarter of the island.

Workers at the El Palmar thermal power plant restored part of the supply on Monday, after twelve mobile power generators arrived at the island.

By this morning around 27 generators are expected to be online, with a further six mega-watt generator arriving today, providing power for much of the island whilst repair works get underway on the main power plant in the coming days following a fire on Saturday.
