54kg of illegal shellfish seized in Fuerteventura
Authorities in Fuerteventura have launched a manhunt, and seized 54 kilograms of shellfish destined to be sold on the black market.
The shellfish are understood to have been caught illegally, and were discovered in a raid in Caletones Mansos in Aguas Verdes.
The illegal fishermen fled when confronted by the Canarian Fish Inspection Service and Polica Local in Betancuria, throwing their catch out from their car when they escaped.
Now authorities are trying to locate the fishermen so that they can be charged with illegal fishing.
