Seven people in Menorca have been arrested in connection with a people smuggling ring which forced those who were brought illegally into the country into sex work.

Four people have been freed from the gang including two children. It’s believed they all came from Equatorial Guinea, where they were coerced into going to Spain to pay debts owed to the criminal gangs.
The gang, who police described as one of the most active in the country, have been remanded in custody ahead of their trials.
