British man arrested after making bomb hoax on aircraft
An 18-year-old British mans has been arrested after causing a major security alert in the skies over Spain.
In a social media post, the detained man said a bomb had been planted on an easyJet flight between Luton and Menorca, resulting in the Spanish Air Force being scrambled to escort the Airbus aircraft to Mahon airport.
The aircraft was parked at a remote stand, whilst Guardia Civil searched the aircraft, finding no explosives on board.
Officers identified the passenger responsible for the post, arresting him on the aircraft where he is currently on remand ahead of trial.
