Air pollution continues to fall, but remains above legal levels

Air pollution in the country is falling, but is still above legal limits, according to the latest Government data released this week.

The latest preliminary data suggests that Nitrogen Dioxide, particulate and OZone levels have fallen compared to 2017 figures, but are still above the levels set by EU Regulations.

Eleven member states of the EU have had infringement proceedings opened against them, including Spain, however it’s understood the Commission are aware that pollution levels are falling, showing progress is being made.
