VIDEO: Cyber-criminal who stole nearly €1bn arrested in Spain
Policia Nacional, along with Europol and police forces across the world have arrested a Ukrainian cyber-crime mastermind suspected of stealing about €1bn.
The individual is alleged to be the head of the organised crime gang that ran malware campaigns that targeted banks. It’s understood cash machines were infected with virus’ that made them dispence hundreds of thousands of euros at specified times and bank databases were attacked and alertered.

Europol said the group had been active since 2013 and infiltrated more than 100 banks in that time.
Money was laundered via crypto-currencies and payment cards, which were used to buy luxury goods including cars and houses.
